Can artificial turf handle heavy rain?
A properly designed turf system can manage rain by allowing water through the surface and directing it through the prepared base. Performance depends on correct grading, drainage, and avoiding blocked outlets.

The turf backing is only one part of rain management. Water must have a path through the base and away from structures. North Georgia’s heavy storms make it important to inspect existing low areas, roof runoff, compacted soil, and nearby hardscape before installation.
Standing water after a storm is a signal to investigate, whether the surface is natural grass or turf. It may point to a blocked drain, inadequate slope, or a subsurface issue that should be corrected—not ignored.
